To whom it may concern

at the obscenity patrol of WBCR (OPO WBCR):

First and foremost we at Kickass Chicks, The Radio Show, would like to thank you very much for taking time from your busy schedule to listen to our broadcast. To be honest, we were convinced that maybe we had 3 listeners at most. Now we are practically overwhelmed with our popularity: gee golly 4 whole listeners!! This might call for some champagne. Oh wait, who are we kidding? A shaken can of PBR will suffice. (And by we, I mean quite imperially, I, auntie social)

Secondly, we would like to express our disdain with the passive aggressive behavior of the OPO WBCR. We go to great lengths to be accessible to our (gee golly 4) listeners. Heck, we practically have to physically restrain Peaches in order to play 2 or 3 whole songs in a row without announcing the telephone number at the station, our email address, the address of this blog, or all three, twice. If you have a problem with a song: be it the title or the actual lyrics, let us know! Letting us know immediately in a direct and polite manner should result in an apology and less "obscenity" for you, or at the very least, a lively discussion regarding the vagueness of the legal definition for "obscenity" and the context in which the song was written and produced (i.e. literary, artistic, political, or scientific value). Do your research: profanity is not obscenity [fcc.gov]. (btw, Kathleen Hannah is a student of feminist activism who also happens to be a female musician, perhaps we need to make these points more clearly, maybe by providing informative links to these artists on this supplemental blog?)

In closing, we at Kickass Chicks, The Radio Show hope you at OPO WBCR keep listening! We really couldn't handle a 25% drop in listeners at this vital juncture in our volunteer radio career. WBCR is a fabulous community resource and we really appreciate being able to share our favorite non main-core female artists with you. They're rude and crude and we just love ‘em to death. If you would like to go after the truly "obscene", might I suggest shifting your focus to the countless "gangsta rappers" (please forgive my cracker ass, I can't think of any examples) and the likes of Britney Spears. Certainly they get enough airtime, everyday, on countless clear channel [corpwatch.org] stations.

yours truly in passive aggressive bliss,
